A Dose of Dawson: Grandma Betty

Grandma Betty passed away May 9, 2015. She was surrounded by her two of her daughters, Trudy and Wendy at her passing. Her passing was peaceful and full of love. In the early hours of the morning, Betty had a heart attack. She was aware of what was going on but barely responsive. Everyone was able to say their good byes via phone and Betty was aware of everyone who spoke with her. Trudy and Wendy kept telling her to let go and that we would all be ok. It is a blessing Betty passed peacefully in no pain and suffering. We arrived at the hospital right after her passing. On our drive down, I remember a distinct feeling that she had passed. When we got there, I found out that the time I had that feeling she passed was around the exact time when she had gone. We think she has people on the other side who need her more than we do right now. We take comfort in knowing her spirit lives on and she really is not too far from us. There are days that have been hard and Kyle really misses his Grandma. We remember her when we go to the Wild Animal Park, when we go eat at Buffet House or In n Out or have an ice cream at McDonald's. She still makes us smile with the memories we have and know the separation is only for a season. Thanks for being my Grandma, too. It is easy to love you because of the love you and Kyle have for one another!
