Two weekends ago we went to the San Diego County Fair for the first time. We went on Saturday because Colbie Callait was singing live. The concert is free with admission to the fair and we got in for $4! The student art and wood work is fun to look at and the shopping. The animals were fun too. We saw pig racing, and it is pretty entertaining. We also saw the biggest cow we have ever seen named Spot. They have like 3 huge buildings worth of expos and it is fun to look at bunch of random things. We didn't find anything too unique that we loved, so we never bought anything. What we did try and buy was the food. Kyle fulfilled a life long dream of eating a Turkey leg! It actually was really tasty. It had a smoky flavor. I also had some fish tacos and they were really good too. Colbie Callait was fun to watch and she sounds just as good live as she does on the radio. We went back the next weekend to see Switchfoot. They are from San Diego, so they have a pretty big following down here. They were very interactive with the crowd and the lead singer went crowd surfing while still singing! I thought it was impressive. That day, I tried a gyro and we got some fried avocados and a funnel cake. Later that night, my stomach was not happy. LoL. But we at least picked semi healthy fried foods. The fair also had fried oreos, fried slim fast bars, and fried klondike bars! Anything you could think of that could be fried or wrapped in bacon, it was. It was a fun couple weekends to kick off our summer here in SD!
