Rewind: The New Year

We took Mom to the Mormon Battalion Center in Old Town on New Years Eve. She has actually been there before, but I have not, so we ate lunch at Miguel's down the street. It was very yummy. The cable car actually rang it's bell at Kyle and all the tourists waved! It was a fun afternoon. New Years Eve we watched movies all night with family, but it was really fun!

My mom left New Years Day, so the day after we went and saw the floats on display up in Pasadena with Mark, Trudy, Emily, Kristene, Kylie, and Aubrie. Emily and Kylie were sick, so that was too bad, but Kyle carried Kylie the whole time and she slept pretty much the whole time. Everyone else seemed to enjoy it though and it was worth the drive! It really it incredible to see the actual size of the floats. You feel pretty small next to them. My favorite was the Eiffel tower on the Princess Cruise Ship float. Aubrie's favorite was the pink hippo, and Kyle really liked the WWII float with the eagle and american flag. It is incredible how creative they have to be because everything is made up of seeds, flowers, fruits and vegetables.
