Rewind: Early December

Early in December Balboa park has two nights on the weekend called "December Nights". It was very popular and busy this year! It was kind of "fair" ish in the activities and food they offered. You can also go into the museums for free for a couple hours, but it was so busy, we could not get in! My favorite part was probably the Christmas Trees from around the world. Groups/companies had countries that were the theme of their decorations for the trees. Obviously, my favorite was the France tree! There was also a Grinch tree and the Grinch was there! It was packed! It was so hard to get a picture. We went with family, so it was a lot of fun to walk around and enjoy the Christmas festivities and the weather was just right!

One Sunday night we went to Rancho Penasquitos, 20 minutes south, to see the neighborhoods yearly "Christmas Card Lane" All the houses have "Christmas Card" themes with lights and you just get to walk the whole neighborhood. Some of the houses put up train sets (kids love that!), sell hot chocolate and popcorn, and play live Christmas music in their driveway! It was, again, packed! It was kind of chilly this night, but, again, great weather!

We opened Christmas presents from Mark and Trudy early because everyone was going out of town this year for Christmas. All the girls got Fit Bits and Kyle got a nice sound bar!

The week we left for Utah, Kyle dropped a huge piece of plywood on his foot (yes, he had closed toed shoes on). It took off his toe nail, bled like no other, and he got like 10-12 stitches, all on his big toe. I met him and Trudy at the ER as soon as I got off of work. Getting a phone call from your husband telling you he needs to go to the ER is not a fun phone call to get at work! He is healing nicely and work paid for him to get some steel toed boots that he wears to work now!
